Sarah and Lee’s Palm House Wedding
Sarah & Lee’s Palm House Wedding took place on the 30th of July 2016.
The day was full of glorious sunshine and the beautiful grade 2 listed Palm House in Liverpool’s Sefton Park made a stunning setting for Sarah & Lee’s wedding.
I had gone to Sarah’s house in the morning while Neil was with Lee.
It was all very calm and peaceful in Sarah’s mums house in the morning, Sarah looked stunning in her very elegant satin gown with lace detail on the back.
The bridesmaids were absolutely lovely in pale lemon dresses. The silk flowers for the bouquets had been beautifully put together by Sarah and complimented the dresses perfectly. Sarah and her mum had dressed the venue too which looked lovely.
It was so lovely to be with Sarah and her mum and dad that morning.
Neil had been photographing Lee and the boys and they all looked very dapper indeed with their very stylish suits.
The setting of the palm house was beautiful. The historic Palm House was first opened in 1896, and is home to an exotic collection of plants and palm trees.
The ceremony was very emotional with a beautiful reading from Sarah’s sister Ella. The sun shone and the guests were all entertained by a brilliant magician!
The evening got into full swing with a fantastic band and everyone
A very beautiful wedding, with a very beautiful couple! We hope you had a fantastic honeymoon in Northern Italy
Neil & I wish Sarah and Lee every happiness in their marriage.
Love Sam& Neil
Bethan and Ben’s 30 James Street Wedding
Bethan and Ben were married at the lovely Bishop Eton Church on the 29th July, followed by a reception at 30 James Street.
Bishop Eton is a lovely church in South Liverpool and I have photographed many weddings there.
I had met Bethan whilst shooting her sister Ria’s wedding in May 2015 at the Titanic Hotel and it was an honour to be asked back to photograph another wedding within the family.
Bethan and the girls all got ready at her parents house and it was so lovely to meet Ria and Ash again with their adorable new baby boy. It was a real buzz with all the girls and Bethan’s lovely family.
The girls looked beautiful in soft lilac dresses and Bethan looked stunning in a beautiful beaded fishtail dress.
The flowers were an exquisite mix of white and ivory roses, freesia and hydrangeas. They complemented the soft lilacs and greys beautifully.
Ben and the boys looked fabulous in their silver grey suits.
Bens family are all Australian so they were able to see and explore the great sites that Liverpool has to offer, 30 James Street former HQ of the White Star line is an iconic building with is decorative architecture, brickwork and stunning interior making this a perfect setting for a wedding.
We were blessed with good weather so we took a walk over to pier head for some shots in the golden hour and it also gave the couple some time to be together.
It was a fantastic day and everyone had a wonderful time dancing the night away.
Neil and I wish Bethan & Ben every happiness in their marriage together.

Urban Home Furnishings Liverpool
A few days ago, I had an interesting email from Elaine, a wonderful inspirational designer who is embarking on a new career in soft furnishings.
Elaine makes wonderful handmade footstools and cushions designed to your personal taste and to fit in with the decor of your home.
I asked Elaine to tell me a little bit about how this all started, here is what she said:
“I am a mum of two boys and I work full time in a busy school office during the day which I really do get a lot of job satisfaction from, however my real passion is interior design and diy.
However my passion for diy took a leap last year because I had my heart set on a large deep buttoned footstool for my living room like I see in all the interior mags. My only problem was I couldn’t find one in my price bracket that was a quality piece of furniture!
After trawling the Internet for alternatives I decided I would try and make my own. I did a little research and come across a guy on YouTube giving a tutorial on how to make a tufted footstool. I watched it a few times and thought to myself ‘I’m going to give this a go’. So I did and to my surprise I did a decent job.
My family and friends were also impressed and a couple even asked me to make them one too. I decided to look for courses that I could take. I found Ministry of Upholstery in Salford, they had a footstool course, result!
I completed the course and as I enjoyed it so much decided to launch my own business “Urban Home Furnishings”. I have built a workshop in my garden and I really love what I do. I have just completed a masterclass at Ministry on deep buttoning.
I plan on taking a masterclass on headboards too so I can add to my repertoire! I also make cushions so my clients can get a footstool and matching scatter cushions to complete the look.
I only use the finest quality UK based suppliers. All my footstools meet UK fire regulations.
My footstools are made with a solid hardwood frame, using traditional techniques for deep buttoning, no chip board and staples!
I am passionate about giving my clients a quality piece of furniture that does not cost the earth! “
Elaine will be exhibiting at the SLUXE SAMPLE SALE which takes place at Camp & Furnace in the creative heart of the Baltic Triangle on Saturday 16th July 11.00 – 4.30
This is a brand new event, featuring international designers, homegrown talent and unique lifestyle labels. The first luxury designer sample sale of its kind to take place in Liverpool.
If you are looking for some perfect designer pieces to adorn your home this is the perfect place to be!
Claire and Andy’s pre wedding shoot
Claire and Andy’s pre wedding shoot took place recently in Formby Woods with a fabulous couple Claire & Andy.
Claire & Andy are to be married at Beeston Manor on the 13th August.
I love Formby woods and its been very popular recently with quite a few of my couples. Im often in the woods either walking “Snowy” or taking photographs. Its a wonderful place with the pinewoods consisting of mainly Scotch and Corsican Pine, many up to 100 years old dating from when the woods were first planted. The woodland opens up through to acres of open grassland, widely populated with many different heathers and flowering shrubs.
Pre wedding shoots can take place in your favourite places to banish fears of being photographed, they are a great way of making you feel easier about being photographed and overall less conscious of the camera. It just means you can forget about us on the day and we just get lots of lovely natural images of you. We turn your favourite images into a lovely signboard and then we bring it to the reception for all your lovely guests to leave their mark!
Claire & Andy were great and Im really looking forward to their wedding in August. These are just a few of my images from the shoot.
Sarah & Lee’s Pre Wedding Shoot
Its been a while since I last blogged, the last few months have been such an exciting busy ride, through pre weddings, weddings and portraits. Sarah & Lee’s Pre Wedding Shoot was shot in Calderstones Park in Liverpool. Calderstones is an amazing place in South Liverpool with over 94 acres of parkland and woodland and of course the neolithic sandstone stones.
Sarah & Lee will be getting married in the stunning Palm House on the 30th of July. Neil and I are really looking forward to their wedding as the Palm House is such a beautiful venue.
We had a beautiful June day for Sarah & Lee’s Pre Wedding Shoot and it was great to see them and have a chat about their wedding. The blossom trees were out in full glory and we made use of the delicate colours of the blossoms in our backdrops for the shoot. Sarah & Lee were great and didn’t find being photographed too daunting at all!
The pre wedding shoots are great for getting used to the camera’s and finding your best angles!.
They can be shot in places you like to be, and from the photos we take we make a rather splendid signboard for you to keep, so you get a really great keepsake too 🙂
Laura & Mike’s Speke Hall Wedding
Laura & Mike’s Speke Hall wedding took place on 2nd April at the stunning and atmospheric Speke Hall, originally built in 1530. Being a spring wedding the daffodils were out in all their glory and the whole setting at Speke Hall was just lovely.

it was a very emotional ceremony and Laura and Mike are just made for each other.
The attention to detail was just lovely as Laura’s love for rabbits was incorporated into her lovely theme, including a very delightful cake. Her flowers were gorgeous pink roses with lilac freesia and they looked wonderful against the setting of the Marquee.
Speke Hall is a fantastic venue with the Great Hall and priest hole date from Tudor times, while the Oak Parlour and smaller rooms, some with William Morris wallpapers. It is set in stunning grounds with a rose garden, summer border and stream garden, and there are woodland walks and magnificent views of the Mersey basin and North Wales hills from high bank. In the courtyard of the main building are two ancient Yew trees, male and female, called ‘Adam’ and ‘Eve’. First recorded in correspondence dating to 1712, they are generally estimated to be at least 500 years old.
There was a beautiful atmosphere all day long and the party got of to a full swing as the twilight hours fell.
Laura & Mike’s Speke Hall wedding was a truly lovely day and we wish Laura & Mike a very happy Wedded life together!
Love Sam & Neil xxx
Annie & Alastair Wayfarers Arcade
Annie & Alastair Wayfarers Arcade. On Tuesday I had the pleasure of Photographing Annie & Alastair on Southport’s Lord Street and the wonderful Wayfarers Arcade.
We started in Starbucks, chatting about all the wedding details over a coffee and catching as it had been a while since I saw them.
Then we headed over to The Town Hall where we took a few shots in the surrounding areas before walking over to Wayfarers Arcade.
A Grade II listed Victorian Shopping Arcade with stunning architecture, a lovely ambiance and a unique mix of boutique shops and cafes. This made a perfect backdrop to our photographs and stopped Annie’s hair from getting blown to bits!! Im glad to say that Annie & Alastair didn’t find the shoot too daunting and we all had a lovely time.
Annie & Alastair Wayfarers Arcade. Pre wedding shoot was great for eliminating pre wedding fears about photos and it really does help you to become more
