Frequently Asked Questions

Can you tell us about the pre-wedding shoot?

A  pre-wedding portrait shoot is a fun and relaxed session that’s a great way for us all to get to know each other, and for you both to get used to having your photograph taken. This can be done at a location that is special to you or at your venue,  it may happen anytime after your booking but about a month in advance of your wedding day to give us a chance to have your sign board made up. Some couples have used the images for “save the date” cards or a guest signing book. This is also a great time to go through the plans and photographs for the day.

How long will you stay for on the wedding day?

We start usually at the brides house about  2 hours before the ceremony and work up until the first few dances of the evening, unless otherwise stated by yourselves .

Do you take group photos as well as candids?

Of course! these are quite historical really,  we have about 8 standard ones in total, otherwise it can take over too much of the day, We can work together on our list of group photographs and this can also  be discussed at the pre-wedding meeting. If I may borrow an usher or bridesmaid it can really help to gather people together to speed up the process. Any specific shots you require may be added to our list.

Will you take photos of the groom as well as the bride before the wedding?

We are normally with the bride but yes, we can arrange this if its something that you would want.

When will we be able to see our photographs?

I aim to have the photographs available to you 6-8 weeks after your wedding. This may be less if your wedding is out of season, October – April. Or it may take a little longer if your wedding is in the height of the season, May –  September. You will be informed after your wedding, but we know you want to see all your beautiful pictures so we do our best to produce your edits as quickly as we can without compromising on quality.

How many photographs will we receive?

We take photographs throughout your whole day, aside from during the wedding breakfast. I don’t set a maximum limit and will take in excess of 1200 photographs, these are then edited down to usually between 500-700 of the very best images of the day.

What albums do you supply?

My current range are hand picked from the very best wedding album manufacturers in the world. Queensberry of New Zealand, nPhoto and Graphi studio Italy are my main suppliers . All the albums I use are hand finished and use archival papers and inks .
Each bespoke album is made to individual specification, with care and great attention to detail. We treat your album like a family heirloom knowing it will be treasured forever and handed down the generations in your family as a piece of recorded history. It is for this sole reason that we design our albums  individually with such passion and dedication. A wide variety of sizes and covers are available for all of our albums, including leathers, silks, linens acrylics, photo covers and etched acrylics.  I would be delighted to show them to you, please feel free to get in touch to arrange a meeting.

Can we see the album design before it goes to print?

Yes, I will put a design together using your favourite chosen images and then send an electronic copy of the page layouts. I want your album to be as perfect as possible and to your exact specifications before going to print. When you are happy the albums gets signed off and is sent to print, depending on the album chosen it will take 2-6 weeks for it to be delivered.
